Vasogenics Ltd, a European distributor for Vasomedical Inc,  has appointed Dot Medical as their representative in the UK for their Enhanced External Counter-pulsation therapy with a view to supporting the product line from the end of April. Counter-pulsation is a therapy which has over 150 publications supporting its use for patients with Angina. Patients generally recieve this non-invasive treatment for one hour a day for 35 days. The benefits are remarkable, with 85% of patients reporting a decrease in their angina symptoms. Whilst initially designed for pateints who were not suitable for further invasive treatments, research in the US has shown that using Counter-pulsation earlier in the development of heart disease may be beneficial.
