MID, the french Gastric Band manufacturer of the MidBand were extremely pleased with the response at the IFSO meeting in Paris at the end of August. Denise Rankin said that "There is no doubt that the lack of surgical complications and ease of use is making this band ever more popular. Most gastric bands need to be sutured in place but most users of the MidBand find that by skipping this time consuming process they  further reduce the complication and slippage rate".
